Dressen on Lombardi List

Posted May 12, 2003

Colorado State University's Joel Dreessen, who was a first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection in 2002 as a tight end, Monday was named to the Rotary Lombardi Award list.

Dreessen, a junior from Fort Morgan, Colo., earned first-team all-league honors last season as a tight end (h-back) in Colorado State's one-back offense. He is one of 40 candidates for the 34th annual award, named in honor of legendary coach Vince Lombardi. Last season, Dreessen caught 29 passes, third most on the team, for 340 ayrds and a pair of touchdowns in helping the Rams to a 10-4 record and the MWC title. The Lombardi Award is presented to the nation's finest college tight end, offensive or defensive lineman, or linebacker, respectively. The 2003 Lombardi Award will be presented Dec. 10 and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Houston.
