SDSU defeats CSUSM 67-46
J.J. O'Brien chipped in with eight points and five rebounds, while Jamaal Franklin had seven points, seven rebounds and four assists for the Aztecs, who won their 19th consecutive exhibition game.
After a sluggish first half, which saw the two teams combine for 26 turnovers and shoot 30-for-74 (40.5 percent) from the field, SDSU used a 21-7 run out of the break to take a 47-33 lead with 12:48 remaining in the game. The Cougars never got closer than 12 the rest of the way.
In the second half, San Diego State was 16-for-24 (66.7 percent) from the field.
Xavier Thames had seven points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Dwayne Polee Jr. added six points (2-for-2 FG's, 2-for-2 FT's) and four rebounds in just 13 minutes.
The Aztecs outrebounded CSUSM, 44-24, and had nine blocks and nine steals.
Tonight was the first exhibition game sellout in program history.
