According to Scout.com's Washington State site, "JC standout Bryan Tarkington verbally committed to Washington State on Monday. The defensive tackle had previously given a verbal commitment to Colorado State but decided on the Cougs after a visit to Pullman this weekend.
The 6-5, 280-pound Tarkington racked up 16 sacks for Moorpark College from his interior line position, totaling 78 tackles on the season.
The first-team all-Northern Division selection in the Western States Conference will join the Cougs in time for spring ball and will have three to play two at Washington State."
While they lost Tarkington, CSU got two last minute commmitments - the 17th and 18th. Safety Zach Heim (6-1, 195 lb) of Orange (Calif.) Lutheran high school has verbally committed to CSU. Heim received attention from Pac-10 schools last spring, but schools backed off after he suffered a stress fracture in his foot midway through his senior season. He's scheduled to have surgery soon, and will enroll at CSU next January.
CSU also landed Loyola (LA) HS Offensive lineman Tim Walter (6-5, 275 lb) He was an L.A. Times' first-team All-Region list and earned second team honors according to Cal-Hi Sports. Walter was being heavily recruited by Washington before ultimately choosing CSU.
