Ram Athletes Honored for Work in the Classroom

COLORADO SPRINGS - Six Colorado State men and five women, respectively, were named to the Mountain West Conference 2002 Academic All-Conference team, as announced by league officials. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and be a starter or significant contributor to the team.

Colorado State garnered the most honorees of any member institution with 11, followed by Wyoming with nine and BYU with seven.
New Mexico and UNLV each had six selections on this year's academic team, followed by Utah with four and Air Force and San Diego State with one each. Nineteen of the 45 Academic All-MWC members were repeat selections from a year ago.
