Lubick's Rams Strike it Rich on National LOI Day

Completing what one expert termed, "As good a class as last year, if not better," Colorado State Football Coach Sonny Lubick proudly announced his team's new list of letter of intent signee's at a press conference in Fort Collins. The following are thumbnail profiles of the newest CSU Rams:

Allotta, Nick, Ol/DL; 6-4, 275, Fr.; San Diego, Calif. (Rancho Bernardo)
Played for coach Ron Hamamoto at Rancho Bernardo...two-time all-league
selection at Rancho Bernardo...named his team's offensive most valuable
player in 2002...named to the All-San Diego County all-star team, and
earned All-CIF honors...also was named to the conference's all-academic
team...led team to 11-2 record in 2002 and berth in the state playoffs,
where Rancho Bernardo was beaten in the second round of
competition...helped the team to CIF title game in 2001... nationally-ranked

track competitor in the discus (171 feet, 10 inches), shot put (56 feet, 1 inch)

...currently playing basketball for the state's no. 2 ranked team.

Asioudu, Chuck, DL; 6-2, 255; Jr.; Chino Hills, Calif. (Mt. SAC)
Mt. SAC:  Named junior college All-American in 2002 at Mt. SAC in
Walnut, Calif...also earned Scholar Athlete All-American honors as a
sophomore...played defensive line.  Ayala High:  Earned two varsity
letter awards in football at Ayala High in Chino Hills, Calif...named
all-conference as a senior...set school record for most quarterback
sacks in a season with 13...also had five fumble recoveries and two pass
interceptions in 2002...also recruited by San Diego State and Arizona.

Campbell, Ciarre, WR/DB; 6-2; 180; Fr.; Aurora, Colo. (Denver South)
All-conference defensive back...broke arm senior year...five brothers
and two sisters...second in state in the long and triple jumps...4.43 in
the 40-yard dash...head football coach Ryan Mullaney.

Chatman, Greg, WR; 6-2, 185, Fr.; Carson, Calif. (Carson)
Earned three varsity football letter awards and two in track at Carson
High...played for coach John Agirre...caught 32 passes for 988 yards and
nine touchdowns as a senior in 2002...tied school record for most
touchdown receptions in a game, three, in 2002...named all-city and
all-region as a senior...two-time all-conference selection...led team to
8-3 record and into the state playoffs as a senior...also recruited by
Washington, Utah, San Diego State, and Oregon State.

Crews, Dan; OL; 6-4, 295; Fr.; Las Vegas, Nev. (Las Vegas)
Was named All-City as a senior...two year letterwinner in
football...bench presses 350 and squats 450...has one younger

valuable player, as a junior and senior...earned three varsity letter
awards in football, one in basketball...named to all-league teams as a
junior and senior...also named all-region as a senior...led his team in
receptions as a senior...helped Corona to 12-3 record in 2002 and state
playoff berth...Corona advanced to the second round of the
playoffs...rushed for 762 yards and 14 touchdowns...gained 2855 yards
rushing total as a sophomore and junior combined with 28

three each in football, basketball, and baseball...prep coach was Scott

all-conference in baseball twice entering the 2003 season...named to
All-Colorado team in 2002, list of the state's top players regardless of
classification...averaged 45.2 yards per punt as a senior...led team to
league crown and into the second round of the playoffs before being
eliminated...selected to the Student Sports Magazine prep All-American

Levine, Liddon; DB; 5-11, 175; Fr.; Oakland, Calif. (Skyline)
Named first-team All-Oakland Athletic League as a senior in
2002...played free safety...named seocnd-team all-conference as a junior
in 2001 while playing strong safety...made 56 tackles as a senior
including 11 for lost yardage...also had five pass interceptions, three
fumble recoveries, and a pair of quarterback sacks...scored two
touchdowns by virtue of turnovers...first name pronounced La-Don.

Morse, Zach, LB; 6-3, 225; Fr.; Highlands Ranch, Colo. (Dakota Ridge)
Regarded as one of the state's finest linebackers in 2002, but did not
play the entire season due to a knee injury...two-time all-conference
selection and was named to all-state team as well...prep coach was Ron
Woitalewicz...led the team in tackles as a junior...earned three varsity
letter awards in football and also formerly competed in track at Dakota
Ridge.

Nading, Jesse, DL; 6-5, 210; Fr.; Highlands Ranch, Colo. (ThunderRidge)
Named the state class 5A defensive player of the year...two-time
all-state football selection...chosen to all-state basketball and
baseball teams in 2002, respectively...named to All-Colorado football
team in 2002, list of the state's finest prep players regardless of
classification...chosen by The Denver Post as the state's defensive
player of the year...three-sport all-state performer in football,
basketball, and baseball at ThunderRidge...helped ThunderRidge to 2002
state basketball title in Class 4A, and was named to state

Pauly, Nathan, LB; 6-2, 215; Fr.; Conway Springs, Kan. (Conway Springs)
Named the state of Kansas' defensive player of the year in 2002...led
Conway Springs to state championship in 2002 with 14-0 record and title
game win over Silver Lake...listed among top seven prospects in the
state of Kansas as a senior by Rivals.com...that same recruiting website
called him one of the top 70 linebackers nationally...brother of Eric
Pauly, the Rams' all-conference and academic All-American
linebacker...two-time all-conference and all-state selection...besides
being named the state's top defensive player, also earned spot on The
Wichita Eagle "Top 11" list of the state's finest players...prep coach
was Mark Bliss...earned four varsity football letter awards, and also
competed in basketball and track...played linebacker on defense and was
a blocking back in Conway Springs' single-wing offense...caught 18
passes for 377 yards and two touchdowns...also rushed eight times for 77

Roberts, Luke, WR/DB; 6-2, 190; Fr.; Golden, Colo. (Golden)
Regarded as one of the state's premier prep players...helped Golden to
state playoffs in 2002 and berth in title game, where the team lost to
Monarch...prep coach was Al Talbot...will have earned a total of 12
varsity letter awards by the time he graduates from Golden, including
four awards each in football, basketball and baseball...three-time
All-Jefferson County selection..two-time all-state pick as a junior and
again in 2002 as a senior.

Sandie, Erik, OL/DL; 6-2, 260; Fr.; Concord, Calif. (De La Salle
Catholic)
Twice named first team all-league...earned first team all-state...named
second team all-team...lineman of the year for De La Salle, played a part

in De La Salle's 138 game winning streak, and three national titles...lettered in
wrestling...placed third at in sectional tournament as a sophomore,
second as a junior and is currently ranked fifth in the state....team
has won 138 consecutive games dating back to 1991 including national
championships in each of the past three seasons...prep coach was Bob
Ladouceur.

Smith, Blake, DL; 6-2, 245; Fr.; Tulsa, Okla. (Union)
Considered one of the nation's finest defensive linemen...named the
Oklahoma defensive player of the year...ranked among top 40 defensive
ends nationally by Rivals.com...listed as one of the top 10 prospects in
the state of Oklkahoma as a senior...named the state of Oklahoma's
defensive player of the year in 2002...earned four varsity letter awards
in football at Union High...played for coach Bill Blankenship...named to
all-league team three times...in 2002, named first-team all-state by
three different outlets...was a three-time all-state performer...also
named the district player of the year...two-time all-district
selection...named to all-metro team as a junior and senior...as a senior
in 2002 made 83 tackles and led the team with 10 quarterback sacks...led
Union to 14-0 record and state championship by virtue of a victory over
Broken Arrow in the title game.

Tyler, Justin, OL; 6-7, 320; Fr.; Glendale, Ariz. (Ironwood)
Ranked among top 25 offensive linemen in the country by Tom Lemming
recruiting services...also considered Oregon State, Arizona, and San
Diego State...earned three varsity letter awards in football and two in
basketball...played football for coach Chuck Esquivel...named first-team
all-state as a junior and senior both offensively and

Vomhof, Bob, LB; 6-3, 245; Fr.; Gillette, Wyo. (Campbell County)
Is the brother of current Colorado State defensive end Mike
Vomhof...Earned three varsity letter awards in football at Campbell
County...played for prep coach John Kundell...three-time all-conference
selection and two-time all-state pick...played on Campbell County's
state title team in 2000 as a sophomore, alongside his brother,

Named all-CIS first team...two-time league MVP...two-time league player

Weber, Chase, DB; 5-11, 155; Fr.; Euless, Texas (Trinity)
Regarded as one of the state of Texas' top defensive backs...three-year
starter and letterwinner...twice  named to all-district team as a junior
in 2001 and as a senior in '02...named to all-state team as a
senior...also was recruited by Iowa, Purdue, and Kansas...in addition to
competing in football, plays baseball and runs track...won the district
track title in the 200-meters event in 21.6...set school record for the
