Augspurger now has 10 20-plus scoring games in her career, with three coming this season. Senior guard Katie Borton and junior forward Joy Jenkins both scored 10, while senior center Shannon Strecker added a team-high nine rebounds in the win. Freshman Vanessa Espinoza added a game-high six assists.
Borton played excellent defense on the Mountain West leading scorer Constance Jinks, holding the senior guard to just 11 points -- nine points below her average.
"I'm really happy with our overall effort," said head coach Chris Denker. "Towards the end of the first half we got a little sloppy but we were completely dominant in every defensive statistic tonight. Katie did a great job on Jinks and Shannon did a nice job defending down low."
Sherry McCracklin led UNLV with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Jinks added her 11 points and five rebounds. UNLV was 0-for-13 from the three-point line and shot just 27.7 percent in the game from the field.
Colorado State will close out its regular season on Friday evening against San Diego State, which lost a 60-43 decision at Wyoming earlier this evening. The game, which begins at 7:00 p.m., will be the last home game for the five seniors on the Rams team and will be senior night.
